The Maine Community College System (MCCS) is looking for a full-time Information Systems Specialist III (ISS III) position to be located at Washington County Community College in Calias, Maine. Under limited supervision and using a high level of judgement, this position performs administrative functions, and advanced technical support, including phone, remote and in-person, for the local area network, academic and operational systems including all technology maintained by the Information Technology Department. This position performs complex, regular maintenance and troubleshooting, and research on mission-critical systems, such as the college's email system and cloud-based file storage and user database. This position is also responsible for installing and configuring complicated wire and wireless network infrastructures, diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving communication and security equipment problems, hardware and operating system problems, as well as the student information system portal. In addition, this position will conduct workshops and demonstrations to train, upgrade and/or introduce appropriate skills. This position will serve as the department's subject matter expert and primary resource to ensure the college maintains a strong data security posture by establishing and upholding data security policies, procedures and protocols. This position will also provide accurate and timely resolution to support desk tickets created by students, faculty and staff. This position will serve as research and test new systems to support academic and administrative needs as well as assist in performing backups and server maintenance to ensure integrity and availability of user data and other duties as assigned. This position will also manage campus endpoint security by ensuring all technology devices are protected against hacking, viruses, malware and related malicious activities. Finally, this position requires the successful individual to have solid technical knowledge of hardware and software environments, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications: The required minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and up to and including four years of experience in computer information systems or related discipline. Relative experience may be considered in lieu of formal education on a year for year basis.

Ability to troubleshoot, research, and maintain classroom audiovisual and computer environments, and security equipment, hardware and operating systems, and student information system problems; to install and configure wire and network infrastructure; to provide telephone and remote customer service; to train and conduct workshops; to make judgement calls with appropriate resolutions to support issues
Valid driver's license
